THIS 104,000 SQFT. TEACHING/RESEARCH LAB/CLASSROOM FACILITY AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES IS LOCATED ON THE UNIVERSITY PARK CAMPUS IN MIAMI.  AN OPEN-AIR “MAIN STREET” WHICH JOINS THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES WITH THE LABS BISECTS THE THREE-STORY BUILDING. THE LATTER HAVE BEEN PLANNED AS THREE MODULES TO WHICH A FOURTH CAN BE ADDED WHEN THE NEED ARISES. THE GROUND FLOOR HOUSES THE GENERAL CLASSROOMS, SEMINAR ROOMS, AND THE LECTURE HALL.  THE SECOND AND THIRD FLOORS HOUSE THE PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENTS RESPECTIVELY.  A SPACIOUS INTERIOR ROTUNDA CONTAINING DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES IS THE FOCUS OF STUDENT AND FACULTY INTERACTION. 

THE PHYSICAL AND SCIENCES BUILDING RECEIVED A 1991 AWARD OF HONOR FROM THE SOUTH FLORIDA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS.
